MAYBE IT’S OSA

OSA (obstructive sleep apnea) is a very common but harmful condition that affects about 1 in 4 adults. During sleep, the upper airway (breathing tube) temporarily and repeatedly collapses, shutting off oxygen. When breathing stops for 10 seconds or longer, that interruption is called an “apnea.” Apneas can occur dozens of times per hour and hundreds of times per night!

In addition to non-restful sleep, this pattern of blocked breathing followed by partial awakening has harmful biological effects over time, such as raising your blood pressure and increasing your risk of clogged arteries.
